With the help of her friend Terence (a dust-keeper fairy who has a crush on her), she secretly practices water, light, garden, and animal talents — all with disastrous results. She accidentally drowns a flower, scares off butterflies, and causes chaos.

Queen Clarion declares that tinker fairies are essential — not just for fixing things, but for inventing and solving problems no one else can. Tinker Bell is invited to the mainland for the first time. In the end, Tinker Bell and the other fairies cross the sea to the mainland. She is nervous but proud.
