The laptop camera light flickered on. Raj stared at his own reflection, but behind him, in the dark of his room, two button eyes glowed back.
The screen rippled. Raj’s cursor slid away from his control. Files began to rename themselves: Freddy_1.mp4 , Freddy_2.mp4 . His photos warped—family portraits twisting into that same bear’s smile.
And Freddy was already inside.
The search bar blinked impatiently. "Download Freddy - Filmyzilla," Raj typed, his fingers greasy from the evening samosa. One click. That’s all it took.
Then his phone buzzed. A text from his own number: "Wanna watch the sequel?"
The download bar filled not with a movie file, but with a single, grinning icon: a crude, cartoon bear with hollow eyes. "Thanks for the invite," it whispered through his laptop speakers, voice like a scratched DVD.
He hadn’t downloaded a movie. He had opened a door.
