The travelers soon found themselves captured by a trio of trolls: Tom, Bert, and William. The trolls, planning to eat the dwarves and Bilbo for dinner, forced the company to think quickly and devise an escape plan. Bilbo, clever and resourceful, played a crucial role in outsmarting the trolls.
